Guide on number of lessons to order

Generally we have students take 5 lessons on the English Section. These lessons are generally formatted in this way:

1. Go over English Section format and strategies, then hit grammar rules hard

2. Spend a full day focused on helping student become familiar with grammar rules – focus on accuracy

3. Go over questions focused on sentence structure and author/passage intent, while focusing on accuracy

4. Take a full day and put the two together, helping them get up to pace

5. Take a full English test and go over it, addressing areas of weakness and possible improvement

Generally improvement takes time, so schedule as many lessons as you feel like you can if English is the major point of difficulty; 5 is a standard benchmark, but if English is specifically difficult for you/your kid then upwards of 8 lessons may be good. If English is an area of strength, then only 2 or 3 lessons may be necessary

Generally we have students take 5 lessons on the Math Section. These lessons are generally formatted in this way:

1. Start by reviewing test format and then hit easy questions, reviewing math concepts and focusing on accuracy

2. Wrap up easy questions, focusing on pacing/Start going over word problems and how to decipher word problems

3. Focus on word problems and difficult math concepts, focusing on accuracy and how to understand what the problem is asking

4. Focus on pacing the second half of the test well

5. Take a full Math test and go over it, addressing areas of weakness and possible improvement

1. Practice reading speed and techniques, as well as introducing different question types (General understanding of test)

2. Focus in on question accuracy and understanding, striving for the best score possible regardless of time

3. Start focusing on pacing, by timing each passage and helping them speed up while maintaining accuracy

4. Spend a day focusing on their bigger need between pacing and accuracy

5. Take a full reading test and go over it, addressing areas of weakness and possible improvement

Generally improvement takes time, so schedule as many lessons as you feel like you can if reading is the major point of difficulty; 5 is a standard benchmark, but if reading is specifically difficult for you/your kid then upwards of 8 lessons may be good. If reading is an area of strength, then only 2 or 3 lessons may be necessary

1. Look through and practice passage types, as well as introducing different types of questions (General understanding of test)

2. Focus on Graph passages and answering techniques. Finish by focusing on hypothesis passages

3. Segue from graph passages to experiments, and focus on new question types. Spend days 2-3 focused mainly on accuracy

4. Focus on all three passages and how to get on pace

5. Take a full science test and go over it, addressing areas of weakness and possible improvement
